A dripping joint or exposed seam can make a small maintenance job feel bigger than it needs to be. This waterproof butyl repair tape combines a silver aluminium foil backing with a tacky, flexible adhesive to help seal suitable gaps and joints against water, air and dust.

Suitable applications include compatible roof seams, caravan panels, window edges, duct joints and metal or glass joints. Choose a piece wide enough to cover the gap and adhere securely to the surface on both sides.

1. Prepare: clean and dry the surface. Remove dust, grease and loose material.
2. Measure and cut: allow enough tape to cover the gap and grip on either side.
3. Peel and position: remove the backing and place the tape carefully.
4. Press firmly: smooth across the full area and press down the edges.
5. Leave undisturbed: do not peel off or reposition the tape within 24 hours of application.

Application tips: Wear gloves to handle the sticky adhesive. In cold conditions, gently warm the tape with a hairdryer before fitting. Test a small area first to check surface compatibility. Avoid combining it with silicone or solvent-based waterproofing products.
